In Craft Beer Tours

SF on Tap is committed to running safe experiences for our guests, guides and brewery partners. San Francisco has one of the highest vaccination rates in the nation, and our local tourism and hospitality community has led the way in demonstrating how to help you enjoy our region in the safest manner possible.

Covid-19 has made us rethink life. This is especially true when it comes to how we celebrate and get together. We believe our walking tours are a great way to experience San Francisco in a safe fashion while drinking some awesome local craft beer.

Here are 5 reasons to book a private craft beer walking tour this year. We’re all in this together, but that doesn’t prohibit us from having fun.

1. SAFETY FIRST

Beer during COVID

We put safety first so you can relax and enjoy an afternoon strolling through cool neighborhoods to three breweries. We’re taking lots of extra precautions, including the following: required use of masks in close group setting (guests must bring their own); stringent hand sanitizer available on tours; guide training.

“We truly enjoyed our SF on Tap walking brewery tour,” says guest Jennifer Tanck. “We were their first tour post-Covid shutdown and they did a great job ensuring we received the full tour experience with appropriate safety protocols in place. Mike’s knowledge about the local craft beer scene (and brewing in general) was superb, and we could have easily done another a few hours with him. There are only a handful of food/beer/cocktail tours that I would do a second time, but this one would definitely make the list.”

2. COMMITTED BREWERY PARTNERS

Our partners are doing their part to keep things safe. Staff members wear masks and gloves when serving guests, and all surfaces are wiped down regularly. Although some breweries are not open due to Covid, SF on Tap has identified several off-the-beaten-path brewing establishments to experience. Reservations are more important than ever since the breweries that have reopened are limiting the number of guests they can serve.

3. OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE

The fact that our tour is a walking tour works well during Covid. We think this provides an extra measure of safety, especially when combined with social distancing and wearing masks. As San Francisco safely reopens, most breweries are serving outdoors. Of course, you’ll want to bring a jacket since we will be sampling beer outdoors when possible.

4. THE BEST GUIDES

Your SF on Tap guide will add an extra measure of fun to your party. We’re your party planner and host. As you would expect, you’re going to taste some pretty awesome local craft beer. The surprise will be how our guides bring San Francisco’s beer history to life. From landmarks to lore, our guides will help you experience parts of San Francisco that many visitors overlook.

We also take photos with our phones and then send you the photos. We have found that by taking the photos with our own phones we’re avoiding the potential spread of Covid since we’re not passing phones back and forth.

Local Brewing

5. SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES

Tourism around the world has been hit hard by the pandemic. By booking our craft beer walking tour you’re not only supporting a small business like ours, but also our local breweries.

Besides the precautions being taken by SF on Tap and the breweries, San Francisco remains an example to the world when it comes to combatting Covid. San Francisco has the lowest death rate of any major U.S. city, the highest rate of testing, and the second-lowest number of cases per 100,000 people.

“Our city’s health means that San Francisco’s reopening will progress sooner and more completely than other destinations,” says Joe D’Alessandro, president and CEO of San Francisco Tavel. “That success is something each of us has done something to achieve.”
